The school supports student health by providing on-site services and clear guidelines for medication and illness.

On-Site Services

The school partners with the Menominee Tribal Clinic to provide services during the school day.

  • Students may receive dental and vision services on-site.
  • A dental hygienist provides cleanings twice each year.
  • Families must submit a signed permission form.

These services reduce time away from class and support student well-being.

Medication at School

Students may take medication at school when families follow these steps:

  • Submit a Medication–Treatment Authorization Form.
  • Prescription medication requires physician and parent/guardian signatures.
  • Nonprescription medication requires a parent/guardian signature.
  • Provide medication in the original labeled container.
  • A parent/guardian must deliver medication to the school.

Important:

  • Students may not carry medication at school.
  • Exceptions include inhalers and EpiPens.
  • Students should go to the office when they need medication.

When to Keep Your Student Home

Keep your student home if they have:

  • Fever: 100 °F or higher (return after 24 hours fever-free)
  • Vomiting or diarrhea: 2 or more episodes (return after 24 hours without symptoms)
  • Severe cold or cough that limits activity
  • Unknown rash (return after a doctor confirms it is safe)
  • Pink eye: Return after treatment begins and the student is no longer contagious

A mild cold or headache alone usually does not require staying home.
